6 FAQs about Large-scale Solar Power Generation & Energy Storage
How to test a DC inverter?
1. Use the voltage range of the multimeter to measure the DC input voltage of the inverter. When the voltage is normal, the total voltage is the sum of the voltages of each component. 2. If there is no voltage, check the DC switch, terminal blocks, cable connectors, components, etc. in turn to see if they are normal.
Why does a DC inverter report 'PV impedance is too low'?
When it detects that the DC positive and negative poles have an impedance to the ground lower than 50kQ, the inverter will report "PV insulation impedance is too low fault" to prevent the human body from contacting the live part of the panel and the ground at the same time, causing the risk of electric shock.
What is a full scale inverter test?
The full scale that can be measure is 1026 V. The measurement is done by applying a DC-Link voltage between 50 V to 1000 V. During this test, the inverter is running and the motor is disconnected, which brings a switching frequency of 16 kHz. The uncalibrated error is observed to be ±1% throughout the measurement range. Figure 16.
What is the undervoltage of a DC-link voltage sensing circuit?
The undervoltage for this design can be set at 400-V DC. In that case, use two 200-V Zener diodes (currently DNP) connected in parallel with two 1-MΩ resistors. The spacing for the resistors and Zener diodes are important due to its high-voltage operation. Figure 6. DC-Link Voltage Sensing Circuit
How does a DC inverter work?
The inverter protects against overload, short circuit, ground fault, DC bus undervoltage and overvoltage, and IGBT module over temperature. The DC bus voltage is dropped down using the resistor divider and fed to the AMC1311 for sensing. The under- and overvoltage are programmed in the MCU using the sensed signal.
Why does my inverter keep resetting after switching off?
Error 11 - Battery high ripple voltage High DC ripple is usually caused by loose DC cable connections and/or too thin DC wiring. After the inverter has switched off due to high DC ripple voltage, it waits 30 seconds and then restarts.
